up for 2007 new artist "Metropolitan Jazz Affair"


INFRACom! welcomes Lyon/France based Metropolitan Jazz Affairs MJA came into being at the end of 2002 as a collaboration between the well-known Bruno Hovart, aka Patchworks, the outstanding trumpet master Stephane Ronget, Eric "Mr Day" Duperray on vocals plus guitar and pianist Benjamin Diving from Colorblind. They tend to fuse jazz and soul music, with various influences from the Jazz Messengers, Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard, Pharoah Sanders, Leon Thomas or more actual sounds like the Roots and Roy Ayers. Their first album, simply entitled MJA in 2003 received good response in the international jazznotjazz scene and is one of the most successful albums of its genre from France up to today. Their new album entitled Bird of spring will be released around march 2007.
